The Journey of Story

“The process of developing a story is one of discovery.”

Failure is a part of the process. It’s known that first drafts always suck. Your book isn’t going to be perfect after one round of edits either. The writing process is a journey. One that will help you learn about yourself, your process, and your story. You and your story evolve together.

Trying to avoid failure only dooms you to fail. It ups your chances of being unoriginal. The sooner you head down the wrong path in your story, the sooner you can pivot and head down the right path.

Writing and revision are about learning. Failure amounts to learning. Thus, if your manuscript isn’t right or perfect the first time around, keep working at it and learning from it to turn it into the novel you want it to be.

Don’t just give up on your novel. Every dream requires work. Failure isn’t always a negative thing. It’s an opportunity to learn and grow. Keep writing, rewriting and revising until your novel becomes the best version of itself!
